I (obviously) have. Don't rely on the BT page to tell you if you can get infinity if you don't have a BT line, it says based on my postcode that I can't get it!

Hi Pete,

There is now <a href="https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B6wW18mYskvBODI5ZGJkYmUtMTNiZS00MzBiLWI1ZGItY2QzMDZiYWQzZTE2&hl=en_US" rel="nofollow">modified firmware</a> to unlock the web interface (and the ssh and telnet interfaces) of the HG612.

The web interface shows xDSL line statistics, and very fine grained statistics can be gotten from the command line tools in the Huawei firmware.

cheers,
asbokid

I've gotten a serial console on the Huawei, and re-enabled the web interface and ssh access, and disabled cwmp. I'm currently testing firmware builds that are configured by default for this extra functionality. As well as the TTY UART and the JTAG headers that you identify above, there is also an RS232 port (driven by the Maxim MAX3221C) with external connection via the BBU socket.

The serial ports work fine but I am having bad problems with the JTAG connector. I've probed the pins with a scope and the TDO pin is 'floating' (i.e. neither logic 1 (+3.3v) nor 0v. The JTAG programmer is getting very confused!

Unusually, there is a TRST (test reset) pin on the board. That should allow the JTAG TAP interface to be reset. At first I figured that that the signal must need pulling high, but it is already. So I'm at a bit of a loss. I'm driven the TCK pin okay with an Altera USB Blaster cable, and it's beating out ticks just fine. I have noticed from the pinout for the Broadcom 6348 that it has a JTAG ENABLE pin, so that may need asserting, but God knows where to find it on the 6368!

The JTAG problems could just be down to a dodgy board, but if anyone has any more info on JTAG pins on the Broadcom 6368, please email me.. ballymunboy ATishoo gmail.com
